My son would sometimes suddenly develop runny nose, sneezing, congestion, and very red, swollen, watery eyes.His eyes hurt, because they get so swollen.
Just this past week, it happened again.While waiting for the antihistamine to kick in, he was in agony, so I put in one drop of Naphcon A in each eye.Ahhhh.Immediate relief.
This isn’t something we can use for more than a few days, because it causes a rebound redness.It also can’t be used in patients with certain types of glaucoma.Other medical conditions and medications may be a problem (e.g., don’t take if you’re on MAO inhibitors); so double check with a health professional, if you have concerns.

It is difficult to assess the effectiveness of this product because everyone is different and if you use it, how do you know if your cataract growth has slowed down because of the product or is that just you.However, I have been using it for several months and according to my eye doctor, the one in my right eye has shrunk slightly.Why?Who knows.The one in my left is a moving cataract and so is better at some times and worse at other times.The cataract in my left eye was all one piece and now is two.Why?Who knows.Since cataracts are caused by free radicals, among other things, it is possible that these drops can help with that. This is great for people who have had LASIK.At first, the drops were a little “thick” for me. They are not like Clear Eyes or standard drops.They’re actually more like a gel.After using Systane for a couple of weeks though, I won’t use anything else.The other drops feel like water!!

I have had pink eye on and off for several months. I have spent upwards of 100 dollars on eye care products (10 dollars a pop, it’s not cheap) trying to get to the bottom of the problem. Come to find out I had bacterial pink eye (as oppose to viral) and pretty much throw away a lot of money on products that aren’t formulated to kill bacterial pink eye. Similasan Pink Eye is probably better aimed at viral pinkeye, as it is pretty much useless against bacterial pink eye. On the bright side the drops did help in soothing the discomfort associated with my pink eye, despite not curing it. The soothing properties alone are enough to justify a purchase as they don’t sting like Visine drops do when applying.
I can’t say the drops helped in speeding up the recovery of my pink eye because I eventually gave up on the drops and went to the doctors for antibiotic eye drops. However, as I stated early it would probably be better used on viral pink eye for the soothing properties as all ingredients are homeopathic and are pretty much useless at curing bacterial pink eye.
Also if you live near a Walgreens save yourself the cash and by the store knockoff `pink eye’ brand, it’s much cheaper and has the exact same homeopathic ingredients in the Similasan pink eye drops.

I was in so much pain with my dry eyes I could hardly function. I tried almost every over the counter eye drops I could find and none helped for more than a few seconds. The eye doctor finally gave me Lotemax, a prescription steroid. It gave me relief. The only problems were that it cannot be used for the long term and it’s very expensive. The doctor wanted me to take Restasis. I tried it and it made my eyes worse. Finally a wonderful, knowledgeable woman in the supplement department at our Sprouts market recommended Similasan Dry Eye Relief drops. I was desperate and would have tried anything.
